Microbial Air Sampler
When conducting microbiological active air sampling (i.e., aseptic monitoring) in a biological safety cabinet (BSC), isolator, or RABS, it is best practice to use a remote sample head with the air sampler located outside the enclosed clean area. Ensuring you have the proper type of remote sample head is key to a seamless integration.
The first consideration is the type of exhaust tubing, and the next is your preferred mounting for the tubing (horizontal or vertical).
Portable Microbial Air Sampler with Silicon Braided Tubing
When performing remote sampling with Climet's CI-9x portable air sampler, the best practice is to use an adapter, silicon braided tubing, and a remote sample head with either a vertical or horizontal mount.
Constructed of 6061-T6 aluminum and clear anodized after fabrication. The adapter head provides a surface that is autoclavable, inert to VHP, and compatible with most commonly used antibacterial cleaning solutions. The adapter head connects to the air sampler. Autoclavable silicon braided tubing is used to connect to the stainless steel remote sample head. Per the images below, Climet offers both a side port (most popular) or bottom port assemblies:

Stainless Steel Tubing
Stainless steel tubing is generally recommended in critical areas, and for these applications Climet recommends a CI-99 air sampler. When you order a CI-99 the part number will indicate whether you want a bottom port or side port mounting plate assembly with your instrument. An aluminum or stainless steel sample head, quick clamp, and gasket are sold separately, or can be ordered as spares.
